Let’s Do More for one another

Reorientation does not come from pushing forward, but from consciously pausing.

Realignment doesn’t come from pushing forward, but from consciously pausing. In leadership and team contexts, people often look ahead too quickly: new goals, new projects. Yet past experiences—and especially successes—offer an enormous source of strength. Consciously reflecting on these and drawing on their energy can make the difference between “carrying on” and “moving forward effectively.”

One of my personal highlights from last year was the fifth and final workshop with a leadership team that we had the privilege of working with over the course of two years. When we first met in 2023, the situation was anything but easy: conflicts dominated day-to-day life, tensions were palpable, and there were serious doubts as to whether a team-building initiative would have any effect at all.

What followed was a shared journey in several stages. Step by step, we developed a shared mission and addressed key topics that are crucial for sustainable collaboration: trust, psychological safety (“safe space”), building relationships, and self-leadership and leadership of others. These concepts did not remain theoretical; instead, they were brought to life, made applicable, and—in the truest sense of the word—made tangible.

At the end of this journey, we paused together and reflected on the process. The participants’ feedback was deeply moving to me. What was particularly valuable for the leadership team was that we had succeeded in transforming the original conflict into something positive—leading to constructive collaboration centered on mutual support.

The participants described how, over the course of the process, they had begun to “lay aside their armor.” They allowed themselves to show emotions, admit weaknesses, and interact with one another more openly. Their understanding and patience toward different perspectives grew, as did their ability to accept criticism. Above all, however, their faith in the team and in individual team members was strengthened.

And that gives me strength and encouragement. Conscious team development builds trust, transforms conflicts into connections, and unlocks the shared potential that leads to lasting success for teams. With that in mind, I’m heading into the new year feeling energized and confident. Here’s to more mutual support in teams, organizations, and among people in general! Do you also want to take your team to the next level in 2026, transform conflicts constructively, or strengthen collaboration? Then let’s talk about it.
